The only way to achieve this is to follow the of Jesus.

Keep love as a focus.

The love of God is a specific special kind of love.

  • Matthew 5:43-48
  • John 13:34-35
  • John 15:12-13

Be in spirit with Jesus.

Jesus was clear about His with the Father.

  • John 5:19
  • John 6:38
  • John 10:29

  • John 6:38-40

Jesus revealed that our purpose is to make Him and His gift to the world (Matthew 28:19-20).

Be humble and do not be selfish.

God becoming the man Jesus showed and (Philippians 2:5-8).

We exhibit the same when we put to death the old self and put on the new self (Colossians 3:1-3 & 10).

Think about it.

To be done during quiet time sometime this week. You are encouraged to talk about these questions with others.

  1. Am I seeking to think as one with the rest of the assembly?
  2. How am I maintaining godly love?
  3. How united in spirit am I with God?
  4. Is making Jesus known to the world my priority?
  5. How well do I do in putting aside my self-interest and making other’s needs more important than my own?
  6. What obstacles need to be overcome to do as Jesus did?
