Why Give?

There is no reason why a missionary, ministry or assembly should be struggling financially when those who follow Christ trust His word enough to give.

There is an expectation to give.

2 Corinthians 8:1-5

Matthew 6:25-33

1 Timothy 6:17-19

Matthew 6:19-21

Reasons to give.

  1. Giving helps the follower of Jesus not be on other things than God.

  2. Giving communicates in the work of God.

  3. Giving is an act of .

  4. Giving is a form of .

What to give.

There is no command to in the New Testament because giving/providing falls under the Law of .

How to give.

We can give confidently and generously because God promises to for us.

Is it time to more confidence and faith in the Lord’s promise to provide?

Think about it.

To be done during quiet time sometime this week. You are encouraged to talk about these questions with others.

  1. How confident are you in the Lord’s ability to provide? How is your confidence reflected in your giving?

  2. Only you and the Lord know how much you give. Is God pleased with your giving? Why or why not?

  3. Is it time to increase your faith in giving? If so, what way are you going to do so?
