The Sure Way: Loving as Jesus Loves

What commandment?
  • Paul could be referring to the group of in verses 11 and 12.
  • Paul could refer to some directives given at Timothy’s (or possibly when he was set apart).

  • Paul could be referring to the itself.

Paul could be referring to the commandment to love one another as Jesus loves. (John 13:34 & 1 Peter 4:8)

A person who claims to follow Jesus is a person who to do all that He commands and exemplifies. You cannot be His follower if you do not intend to , , and Him.

How do we love each other the way Jesus loves us?

  • “ righteousness, godliness, faith, love, perseverance, gentleness,” and be kind, good, faithful, and self-controlled. (Galatians 5:22-23)

  • We need to put the of others first, knowing that God provides what we need. (Philippians 2:1-5)

We stay on the path of salvation by the command to love each other as Jesus loves us.
