This letter is a letter of to assemblies encouraged to keep moving forward in faith.

1:1 – Paul is an Apostle by the of God.

1:3 – Paul commanded Timothy to the truth of God’s word.

1:18 – Paul entrusts Timothy with the command to truth, encouraging him to “fight the good fight.”

4:11; 5:7; 6:2 – Paul commands Timothy to “ these things” to the assemblies.

  • 2:1-8 –
  • 2:9-15 – must be modest, godly and no usurp man’s given authority
  • 3:1-7 – Elders must be men.
  • 3:8-13 – Deacons must be men and women.
  • 4:1-5 – Some people will walk from their salvation.
  • 4:6-10 – Be (please God).
  • 5:1-2 – Treat each other respectfully despite .
  • 5:3-16 – and help widows.
  • 5:17-25 – Honor who do a good job and keep them accountable.
  • 5:1-2 – Honor and respect those in so that God will be glorified.

6:13 – Paul charged Timothy to remember to love others as loves him.

6:17-18 – Paul encourages people to seek after God’s and not depend on earthly material and wealth.
