No Retreat From Shame and Suffering

Faithfulness sometimes looks like .

is dangerous when it leads to retreat.

Suffering can cause shame, but Paul redefines suffering and shows its .

How can we avoid living in shame and allow our suffering for the gospel to serve a greater purpose?

“According to the power of God.” (v.8b) – Live with a Sense of Holy

  1. Prayer is how we surrender control.

  2. Scripture is how we renew our minds with His truth.

  3. Obedience is how we walk in His strength.

  4. The Church is how we experience God’s power together.

“..who has saved us and called us with a holy calling” (v.9a) -Stand Firm in God’s .

“..not according to our works, but according to His own purpose…” (v.9b) – Rest in , Not

“…but now has been manifested by the appearing of our Savior…(v.10a) – Your Eyes on Christ

“…who abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel”(v.10b) – Live in Resurrection .

“…for which I was appointed a preacher and an apostle and a teacher.”(v.11) – Embrace the Calling, Even When It

Our confidence: When we know whom we , we can endure anything the world throws at us. (v.12)
